Code Rood is a cooperation between people who together battle the fossil fuel industry and its power. This means all forms of oil, gas, and coal. The most important thing these people share is that global warming and the damages caused by the fossil fuel industry can not be stopped with just individual actions. We take action against corporations that are responsible for extracting, transporting and burning fossil fuels. We also come into action against governments who let this happen freely. Earth Guardians trains diverse youth to be effective leaders in the environmental, climate and social justice movements across the globe - using art, music, storytelling, on the ground projects, civic engagement, and legal action to advance solutions to the critical issues we face as a global community.
How do we do this? Through the creation and training of Earth Guardian Crews. These crews, ranging from ten to several hundred young people per crew represent the heart and soul of the organization. They are the young activists, artists, and musicians that are on the front lines driving action and fueling the cultural shift toward a regenerative future. We youth will bear the greatest impacts of climate change. Our lives will be very different from the lives of our parents and grandparents. We will be the first generation to witness the devastation the older generations have brought upon our planet.
Youth climate activists from all over the world are uniting to take action and demand a better future for ourselves and future generations. Even though many of us cannot vote, we can make our voices heard! We have started Earth Uprising to support and hasten the youth climate movement while providing resources and opportunities to educate one another about the climate crisis. #FridaysForFuture is a movement that began in August 2018, after 15 years old Greta Thunberg sat in front of the Swedish parliament every schoolday for three weeks, to protest against the lack of action on the climate crisis. She posted what she was doing on Instagram and Twitter and it soon went viral.
On the 8th of September, Greta decided to continue striking every Friday until the Swedish policies provided a safe pathway well under 2-degree C, i.e. in line with the Paris agreement.
The hashtags #FridaysForFuture and #Climatestrike spread and many students and adults began to protest outside of their parliaments and local city halls all over the world. This has also inspired the Belgium Thursday school strikes. You can find out more here - https://www.fridaysforfuture.org

This Is Zero Hour is a youth lead movement focused on creating resources for new young activists and organizers and taking concrete action to combat climate change. They are fighting for a healthy environment that will ensure a livable future where we not just survive, but flourish.
